Loom Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Loom is a private, self-hosted video production tool operated by a single independent
creator. It uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to, and read statistics from, the
creator's own YouTube channels. By using Loom you are also bound by the
YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling
of your data is described in the
Google Privacy Policy.
What Loom accesses
When the channel owner connects a YouTube channel, Loom requests permission to:
- upload videos and set their title, description, tags, thumbnail and privacy status;
- upload captions for those videos;
- read the channel's basic information and the statistics of videos Loom published.
How the data is used and stored
- The data is used only to publish the creator's own videos and to report how they perform.
- OAuth tokens are stored encrypted on the creator's own computer. They are never sent to
any server other than Google's.
- Loom does not sell, share or transfer any Google user data to third parties, and does not
use it for advertising.
- Loom's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API
Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Stored tokens and statistics are kept until the channel is disconnected in Loom, which deletes
the stored credentials. Access can also be revoked at any time from
Google Account permissions.
